Celebrating Juneteenth in our Community!

Juneteenth is right around the corner, and we’re so excited to celebrate this historic day in our community. We’ve compiled a list of events happening in our area:

Community Healing-Arts Events w/ Creative Justice!

  • June 10th 12-2pm at Washington Hall

  • Washington Hall for a celebration of strength, self-expression, and connection. At this event, two workshops will be happening simultaneously: the Plant n’ Juice Workshop and the Dance to Heal Workshop. You get to choose the experience that resonates with you!

Juneteenth-Living It! Learning it! Loving it!

  • June 15th, 5:00pm via Zoom

  • The Flourish Collective is hosting a virtual event where you can learn all about Juneteenth and why every American should celebrate it!

Honoring Juneteenth 

  • June 16th 3:30 – 5PM at the Loyal Heights Community Center

  • This kid-friendly event offers Juneteenth themed craft projects, like bike decorating for a bike parade. As well as a Teen B-ball 3-Point Contest. With yummy popcorn and popsicles too!

Atlantic Street Center's 22nd Annual Juneteenth Celebration

  • June 17th 11AM – 3PM at Rainier Beach Community Center

  • For the 22nd year, Atlantic Street Center is hosting a day honoring freedom at the Rainier Beach Community Center. Free to all attendees, there will be entertainment, Black-owned small businesses, community resources for families, food, lawn games, and more.

Mariner's African American Heritage Day

  • June 17th 1:10pm at T-Mobile Park

  • The Mariner’s will be honoring the African American community’s contributions to society and the game of baseball. $5 of every ticket sold will benefit the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle AND you can pick up a limited-edition Mariners-themed “42” T-shirt!

Black Liberation Cookout

  • June 17th from 11am-3pm at Yes Farm (727 Yesler Way Seattle, WA 98104)

  • The Black Farmers Collective is celebrating Juneteenth and Pride with a Black Liberation Cookout. They will also have family-friendly activities, select vendors, and an opportunity to buy produce from Small Axe Farm! Bring blankets & camp chairs to hang out on their lawn and soak in the sun.

Community Juneteenth Celebration

  • June 17th from 10am-3pm at 241 Martin Luther King Jr Way S Seattle, WA 98144

  • Join Estelita’s Library for their annual book share, the unveiling of their van share, free food, and music!

REVIVAL: Juneteenth Pop-up Market

  • June 18th 12-5pm at Midtown Square

  • This Juneteenth, celebrate and support local Black-owned businesses in the heart of the Central District! Their markets feature representation from local artists, artisans, makers, vendors, and community organizations throughout Seattle area.

Juneteenth Songs of Black Folk 2023

  • June 18th 7pm at Paramount Theater

  • This is an event for the whole family. Visit them for a cultural experience that will last for a lifetime. This performance features elite African American artists, both local and national.

Summer of Soul Juneteenth

  • June 19th 12-8pm at Jimi Hendrix Park

  • Join Africatown Community Land Trust as they commemorate the liberation of ancestors from chattel slavery and collectively envision and explore what future freedom can look like for us all through formatted virtual and in-person discussions and festival activations.

Abolition 101 Virtual Workshop

  • June 6th or on June 14th 6pm-7:30pm PST.

  • Join Creative Justice Executive Director Nikkita Oliver (they/them) for an Abolition 101 workshop on June 6 or on June 14th 6pm-7:30pm PST.
