Hiring Process
We have worked to make a clear and equitable hiring process for all our applicants. We post internally and seek qualified candidates and referrals from our staff, community partners, board, networks and other key stakeholders. We post externally on our website and seek a variety of job boards and networks that target our desired candidates.
We ask candidates to submit their resume and cover letter detailing their interest in CHOOSE 180 and the position they are applying for through our online system. Candidates will get an immediate acknowledgement that we have received the application.
We have an interview panel for key stakeholders that review and select qualified candidates to interview. We begin interviews when we have a diverse candidate pool of qualified applicants including those with lived experience with incarceration, police or court involvement, the school to prison pipeline, and other systems of oppression.
Those selected to interview will be contacted via phone and interviews are primarily conducted over zoom with the possibility of an in-person second round, written exercises showcasing the candidates abilities and strengths, or other additional follow-up methods.
Once a decision is made, the hiring manager will reach out to the selected candidate and those interviewed but not selected will receive a phone call. We build an onboarding process for each new staff and can’t wait to welcome our new staff!
