Announcing Tascha R. Johnson as Interim Executive Director

As many of you already know, CHOOSE 180 is in a moment of transition. Sean Goode has championed the causes of the community as the Executive Director of CHOOSE 180 for the past six years, and is continuing his journey as a community leader through other efforts.

This is an exciting time for CHOOSE 180!  As the organization continues to grow and develop our relationships with the young people impacted by the systems we seek to transform, we are also strengthening our relationship with the community in order to bring the resources to young people, that are so necessary to providing opportunities that have eluded so many of them. These opportunities (resources) will allow them to grow and thrive, opening new doors and creating new possibilities.

As Sean is transitioning away from the organization, I will be stepping in as the Interim Executive Director to help guide us through this process. Along with guidance from our Board of Directors and our amazing staff, we are on a path to not only continuing the same successful heights that we’ve reached in the past, but aspiring to new heights elevating our ability to transform systems and impact lives in meaningful ways.

I’ve been with the organization for nearly 5 years and have grown with it through several transitions. When I came to CHOOSE 180 as an intern out of the University of Washington School of Social Work in 2018, there was a staff of seven that offered diversion through two programs. We are now a robust staff of 31 with eleven different programs providing mentorship and resources to young people in several capacities with the singular goal of creating a future where young people are seen as possibilities, not problems!

CHOOSE 180 is showing no signs of slowing down, and with your support, we will continue to grow. Please allow me to reintroduce you to CHOOSE 180 as we continue our journey of transformation and healing, and envisioning a future together where youthful behaviors are no longer criminalized and our communities are thriving!

In Solidarity,

Tascha R. Johnson
