“The guest speakers were amazing to hear from. I liked hearing about things other organizations and groups were up to and would like to hear more ways to get involved. I felt very supported during the Advocacy Program, I never felt like I was judged. I was supported through tech difficulties and other difficulties like health and school. It is a very welcoming space but also a good place to push slightly out of my comfort zone.”

During our last session we had amazing speakers from community partners like The Mockingbird Society, Freedom Project, Restorative Community Pathways, Latino Community Fund, King County council members, state representatives, and more! Our weekly sessions had topics ranging from:

  • Public Speaking

  • Storytelling Skills

  • State Level Advocacy

  • Education Advocacy and Reform

  • Youth Led Organizing

  • The Prison Industrial Complex

  • Civic and Community Engagement

  • County Level Advocacy

…and more!

“It was a cool experience to do new things like see a legislative meeting and it makes you think more about other people and what they may be going through that you had no idea about, you get to learn about their problems and learn about or come up with solutions which is a good feeling.”
